Over the next 12 years, DC Water will spend $2.6 billion upgrading DC’s inadequate stormwater system. This project will be financed by fees in the water bills of DC residents—by 2019 the average monthly water bill in DC is projected to exceed $100.
On Monday, April 22nd, 2013 – Earth Day – 800-1000 residents and leaders from across the city will gather at Temple Sinai to call for public commitments from DC Water GM George Hawkins and City Council leaders to develop a Clean Rivers-Green Jobs-Green City Community Benefits Agreement in the next six months.
Join WIN Leaders at this historic multi-faith, multi-racial gathering of faith and community leaders from alll 8 wards acting together for economic and environmental justice! We want the room to be packed, so work your turnout and bring a friend or 5!
Leaders will be traveling from all across the city by public transit, carpool and busses.  Limited Parking will be available at Temple Sinai, Carnegie (directly behind the temple) and in the neighborhood. Those who are driving are encouraged to arrive early.  Here are directions for car or public transit.
